Air pollutants can have negative health effects on people both indoors and outdoors. Indoor exposure to air pollutants can cause respiratory problems such as asthma, bronchitis, or COPD. Outdoor exposure to air pollutants can cause heart disease or cancer.

These include particulate monitors, ozone monitors, nitrogen dioxide monitors, carbon monoxide monitors, and temperature probes.

Particulate matter is responsible for causing breathing problems such as asthma and bronchitis.  Ozone is a gas that forms when sunlight reacts with chemicals in the atmosphere. Ozone can cause respiratory problems such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).  Nitrogen dioxide is a type of PM that comes from cars and other vehicles.

Nitrogen dioxide causes respiratory problems such as asthma and COPD. Carbon monoxide is a gas that comes from the exhausts of cars and trucks. Carbon monoxide causes respiratory problems such as pneumonia and death in high doses.  Temperature probes are use to measure temperatures in different parts of the atmosphere. Temperature probes can be use to find out how much heat is being release from the earth’s surface or from atmospheric objects like clouds or smoke stacks.
