What are astronauts?

What is the Hubble Space Telescope?

The Hubble Space Telescope is a space telescope that was launched into orbit in 1990 and operated until 2009. It is named after American astronomer Edwin Hubble, who first demonstrated the existence of galaxies beyond our own. The telescope’s main mission was to further our understanding of the universe by providing images of distant planets and stars. No, astronauts do not need a license to fly in space. However, before an astronaut can fly in space they must first pass a medical examination and have a security clearance. 

There is no question that flying in space is a very dangerous proposition. However, the vast majority of astronauts who have flown in space have returned safely. Still, each flight into space is a unique and potentially hazardous experience. As an astronaut, your job is to explore and learn about the universe around us. Flying in space, however, comes with its own set of risks and dangers. Here are four ways flying as an astronaut can be dangerous:

• Falling off the space station: While falling off the space station
  may not seem like much of a danger, it could actually lead to serious injury or death. If you fall too fast or if your body hits something hard during free-fall, you could suffer catastrophic injuries. In addition, debris from your spacecraft could damage other parts of the orbiting laboratory and cause significant damage or even loss of life.
• Suffocation due to vacuum exposure: The vacuum of space doesn’t allow air molecules to escape easily, which means that astronauts can quickly become deprived of oxygen and suffocate. This can happen even if they’re just sitting in their chairs on Earth – suddenly being flung into space without any breathing equipment can be deadly.
• Space sickness: Another hazard associated with flying in space is space sickness – a condition that causes nausea and vomiting. It’s caused by exposure to different types

What do they eat while they’re up there?

Astronauts eat a balanced diet that is designed to maintain their health and keep them in good physical condition while in space. Typical foods include fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy products. They also drink a lot of water to stay hydrated. The most interesting thing about space travel is the incredible view that astronauts can see from high up in the sky. They can see everything from the Earth’s surface to the planets and stars beyond.
